Outstation travel guide from Indore, Ujjain & Dewas
Essential information for planning taxi trips across Madhya Pradesh and nearby states.
Best time for outstation travel from Indore
October to March offers the most comfortable weather for road trips from Indore. Summers (April-June) can be hot with daytime temperatures crossing 42ยฐC, making early morning departures ideal. Monsoon season (July-September) brings scenic routes but occasional road disruptions on highways toward Omkareshwar and Mandu.
Popular pilgrimage circuits from central MP
The Jyotirlinga circuit covering Mahakaleshwar (Ujjain), Omkareshwar, and Nageshwar is the most booked pilgrimage route. A 3-day round trip from Indore covers all three temples comfortably. The Shakti Peeth circuit and 12 Jyotirlinga tour packages are popular with group travelers during Shravan month and Navratri.
Highway conditions and toll information
The Indore-Ujjain highway (NH52) is a smooth 4-lane road covering 55 km. Indore to Bhopal (NH46) is well-maintained for the full 195 km stretch. Routes toward Omkareshwar pass through scenic ghat roads after Sanawad. Most outstation fares include toll charges - confirm with your driver before departure.
Choosing the right car for your trip
For solo travelers or couples, sedans like Dzire or Etios offer fuel efficiency and comfort. Families of 4-5 prefer SUVs like Ertiga with extra luggage space. For groups of 6-7, Innova Crysta provides premium comfort. Tempo Travellers serve groups up to 12 passengers for pilgrimages and corporate outings.
